These days we are all dealing with the overwhelming emotions such as stress, anxiety, burn-out and even depression and sadness. You are not crazy or alone in this and there are easy-to-use tools to help you.
This week's question comes to us from Patricia:
I consider myself a mindful person as I’ve been practicing yoga and meditation for almost 10 years now and am very spiritual. But lately I’ve been feeling like I’m losing it at times. Lots of things seem to be irritating me that never have before. I lose patience with my kids when they are just being kids and then I become angry with myself for losing my cool and I feel even worse. I generally eat healthy and take care of myself, so I am very confused as to why I’m feeling on edge each day. I can’t find a reason for this overwhelming feeling of anxiousness. What should I do?

Thank you for sending in your question Patricia. I know so many of us are feeling the same way. Little things that are seemingly unimportant trigger us, we feel grumpy and irritated and then find ourselves in a funk that we can’t seem to shake.
Welcome to the era of accelerated energy on earth. You can call it the ascension, the great shift, the new age or anything else. The point is, we are going through a massive energetic change within our galaxy and EVERY being on earth is being affected by it. There is no place to run or hide to avoid this inner shift. You have to deal with it in order to feel better. No more sweeping things under the rug.
Fortunately there are tools that you can use to support youreself in this journey we are all on.
Here are 3 tips that will help you manage the energy:
1. Know that it's leaving.
Things that have been suppressed within your mental, emotional and spiritual bodies for many lifetimes are coming up at a rapid rate so they can leave. Woohoo!! We are all healing at a rapid rate and this can be difficult to process without tools to support you in the process.
This is how the cosmic energy of our ascension is supporting us to higher levels of consciousness. It may not be easy, but thank God it is finally happening so we can rise up with this new energy.
How to deal with it: Bless it and thank it for leaving. Give gratitude for this old energy showing you what you no longer need to 'be'. Then do whatever you can in the moment to put your attention on well-being such as playing with your dog, taking a walk or watching a funny video. What ever you do, do not hold onto those noisy, limiting beliefs and argue with them as that just anchors them in your energy field.
These noisy, fearful based beliefs are coming up for everyone. The more you can recognize it for what it is, the easier it is to let them go.
2. Create a mantra for yourself and speak it out loud throughout the day.
When you use your voice to speak positive words, your throat chakra is activated and the innate wisdom of your body creates a resonance with the powerful vibration of your uplifting words. Your cells begin to resonate with the energy of your words and you literally change the cellular structure of your being.
Keep it simple so you will remember it and repeat it often. Here are some examples:
Whatever mantra you choose, be sure that it always stated in the positive and connect with the words as you speak them out loud.
3. Protect your energy field
Whenever you go out into a public place be sure that you don't take on the energy of others. You can also do this in your own home when you don't want to mingle with the energies of your family when they are in a funky space.
We are all connected and that is beautiful, however, during this time of accelerated energy there is A LOT of confusion and chaos going on out there. The majority of people have no idea that they are creating their own reality. They believe they are victims of circumstance and you don't want that negative energy to come into your space.
If you want to change your life, you have to claim your power as a Divine Creator of your own reality. In order to protect your energy field from taking on the energy of those who are not yet at your level of awareness, image a cocoon of light all around you as you step out of your own home.
You can be playful with it and say ‘Activate shield of light’ and then simply imagine a beautiful, shiny shield of light all around you. This only takes several seconds but you have to do it throughout the day.
Remember, you are the creator of your life. You are not a victim of the world. If you want to change things for yourself and be a way-shower for your family, you have got to take charge of your own energy.
